The low mountain of Vittjåkk in Vittjåkk-Akkanålke nature reserve has several hiking paths easy accessible by car and near the town of Arvidsjaur. Hike through an old and unexploited pine- and spruce forest and admire the variation of the landscape, from mountain to forest and wetlands. The path is easy to see and can be used by families and exercisers. Many shelters, picnic sites and traditional kåtor are found along the path were you can eat lunch or stay overnight.
Who should go: the whole family, everyone with an interest for beautiful nature or exercisers looking for a moderate run. The path is easy to follow and wet parties are planked.
Directions: Start at the parking lot at Vittjåkks ski resort. Arrive here by car from road E45 for Bodö/Arjeplog. Turn left after 2km at the sign for Vittjåkk and continue all the way up to the mountain and the parking lot.
Follow signs for Vittjåkk 3km which leads you on this hike taking you around the Vittjåkk summit, down through the old spruce forest and over wetlands back to the parking lot.
